In Loving Memory of Acorn

Everybody loves Acorn In Yolo County, where shadows lay, A tan little angel found her way, With a wonky jaw and a heart so bright, Acorn, our treasure, our pure delight. At ten years young, a spirit so bold, Rescued by Muttville, her story unfolds, Kate and John welcomed her with open arms, Near their 50th foster, she failed with all of her charms. Five and a half pounds of fluff and cheer, With a tail that wags, spreading joy far and near, A foodie at heart, with meals set on her time, Her persistence for dinner is truly sublime. Dancing and prancing, a playful little sprite, In her cozy outfits, she steals the spotlight, From 49ers jerseys to sweaters so bright, Each stitch tells a story, a love that ignites. With siblings, Emperor Shrimp and Mookie by her side, In a family of laughter, they happily reside, Though not a water dog, she once took a chance, In her grandparent’s pool, she actually floated in a dance. A pandemic pup, teaching lessons so true, To be social, to be friendly, in all that we do, With a tiny voice, not a watch dog at heart, But in every moment, she plays a big part. Through San Francisco, in a sling she rides, Acorn, our joy, with love that abides, She shares our work, our laughter, our tears, Beloved by all, she brings warmth to our years. Oh, Acorn, dear fluff, our silly delight, In the tapestry of life, you shine ever bright, With each wag of your tail, the world feels anew, Forever our treasure, we’re grateful for you.
